Lowdown: We are going on maternity leave starting either at the end of November or December, and our return date is TBD. But we’ll still be selling thru the end of November, including for Thanksgiving. Check back in for updates regarding December!
Dear Pie Friends -
My husband, Jeremy, and I (Veronica) have some big news - we are expecting our first baby in February of next year! It's been an action-packed year for us, from getting married, to going on our honeymoon to Japan, to now expecting a child. It's meant so much to continue to get to sell pies to the community, and I thank you so much for your unwavering support.
While I do have a lot more help these days than when I started in 2020, a lot of A Pie in the Sky still hinges on me, and with me going on maternity leave, A Pie in the Sky will also need to pause for a while. With entering such an unknown adventure, I'm giving myself permission to determine A Pie in the Sky's return based on how I feel postpartum, and listen to my body to see when it feels right to come back. Slinging these pies is quite physical, and I want to give myself and my body the time it needs to heal.
As for the last few pie sales, we will be selling the weekend of Nov 14 & 15, and for Thanksgiving on Nov 26 & 27. December is feeling a bit more murky. While I'd love to sell through Christmas, I'm entering my third trimester and am not sure how much longer I'll be able to do long days on my feet. That said, I'm going to feel out December and keep you all posted as we go along.
Thanksgiving pre-ordering is live, and will go through 11:59PM on Saturday, 11/22. There’s a chance it will be our last pie hurrah for a while, and I’m thankful I still feel energetic enough to be a part of the biggest pie holiday of the year!
